It wasn't the first time I had heard the rumors. At parties and social gatherings, there was always somebody, someone's friend of a friend who would make some vague reference to a house a few miles outside the city limits that was supposed to be the site of the most amazing show ever. Some people called it a magic act, others described it to be more like a hard-core sex show, but no one was willing to give any details.
