Come Nightfall in Niagara

The sight of Niagara Falls, roaring with all of her frothy splendour made me glad I had waited until summer for my vacation. I loved the thunderous force of the water and coupled with the fresh air and sunshine, it was the most incredible rush. This was definitely tourist season and for once I was glad to blend into the crowd. I scanned the throngs of camera laden travellers, searching for the woman I felt was to be my destiny.

I had met Lorri, or chatted with her for the past few months on the internet. It was unbelievable, the number of hours we had spent talking about ourselves, our dreams, our passions and our fears. But the tone of our conversations had definitely slipped into something very personal and intense in recent weeks. I spied her weaving her way along the cement pathway that hugged the Falls, dodging kids on skateboards, slipping past lovers dawdling along lost in themselves and around awestruck sightseers.
