WORK PARTY

My name is Mike. During my college years, I was employed at a mid-sized tourist attraction in the Midwest. The staff was filled with lots of college students. We worked hard and we played very hard too! I'm planning on writing a series of stories detailing some of our wilder times. This is the first installment. Let me know what you think!

At the end of the summer, we held our annual "Tourist Party". Everyone was supposed to come dressed as their favorite tourist-you know the type: plaid shorts, striped shirt, black socks and white tennis shoes. One of the staff members, Kelli, volunteered to have the party at her house since her parents were in Europe for a month and it was just her and her older sister at home.

Kelli's folks have a nice house with a big backyard, so we built a bonfire for everyone to gather around. It was late August, but still cool enough at night for a fire to make a little bit of sense. A good sized crowd had shown up by the time the party was going full bore at about 10 at night. Lots of people from the attraction were there, along with some of their friends. It was really a fun group to party with, everyone got along really well and a lot of people paired up off and on over the summer, sometimes with the same person, sometimes with a different person every week it seemed.
