This Morning.

When I woke up this morning, I knew it was going to be a good day. You know how that goes. Everybody has them. You wake up and everything's right.. Everything's exactly the way it's supposed to be. Everything feels good, and everything is going to click. Today was going to be one of the “perfect” ones. I rolled over and looked at your pillow, gradually remembering you weren't there anymore. Oh, dear heart. I miss you so.

I got up, maneuvering slowly as was the norm for me now, and made my way to the bathroom. As I was disposing of the beer I drank last night, my mind wandered back to a different bathroom in a totally different setting. We were traveling from Detroit to Oklahoma City and had pulled into a Esso station (yeah, it was a few years back) to fill up and make a “pit stop”.
