Sitting in the lounge at the restaurant, Colleen was wondering what to do now. She had taken the train from her home in Michigan into Chicago to meet a friend. Her friend, Clair, was supposed to be in town for a few days for business. Colleen had just received the message that was waiting for her, telling her that Clair was not able to make the trip due to a family emergency.

When Clair had called a couple of weeks ago to tell Colleen she was coming in to Chicago she was really excited. They had not seen each other for 3 years, since Clair moved with her husband to California. Colleen decided to make a weekend of it and get away to see her friend. She had left her husband to watch their kids and caught the train in Southbend for downtown Chicago.

Clair had offered to share her room with Colleen. Since she was staying at a premium hotel downtown, Colleen was looking forward to being pampered and a weekend without the kids. Now she was stuck with nowhere to stay and only the prospect of heading back home for another weekend hanging around the house.

She decided that since she was here, she would at least enjoy a good dinner before thinking about how to get home or what to do.
